Silicone (Dot 5) and Glycol (Dot 3, 4, 5.1) do not play well together. I collect motorcycles and when I have inadvertantly mixed Dot 5 (used in Harley and Buell) and Dot 3-4 (used in almost everything else) the result is a thick sludge rather than brake fluid. It is more than a pain, it is a real safety hazzard as the sludge prevents free movement of the fluid out of the master cylinder. You have to totally flush the system. On a bike I disassemble the master cylinder and slave/caliper cylinders and clean with brake cleaner. On cycles that isn't that hard but is a royal pain on the Z because of the anti-skid system nooks and crannys. I would not be comfortable with merely running clean/correct fluid through the system as the Dot 3-4 is not a solvent for the silicone sludge. Good luck.
